Dog Health

Massage:
Everybody loves a massage - our four legged friends are no exception!
Our canine therapists provide a spa-like atmosphere in these exclusive InBark treatments designed to pamper your dogs while promoting health and well-being for man's best friend. Physical therapy is an excellent subsidiary to massage and will be incorporated in all rehabilitation and injury sessions. Customized massages are available upon request. All dogs are required to have current vaccinations to receive therapeutic care. Not all animals are immediately receptive to bodywork. Extra time will be allowed before each session for your dog to become comfortable with the therapist. If a session must end early, your fee will be adjusted appropriately.

Reiki:
Reiki Therapy is a Buddhist practice that is approximately 2,500 years old. The name "Reiki" is derived from two Japanese words: rei meaning universal spirit and ki meaning life energy. Reiki Masters believe that all living beings are affected by the "universal life energy" that flows around them. Reiki is a form of therapy that uses simple hands-on, no-touch, and visualization techniques, with the goal of improving the flow of life energy in a being as well as improving health and enhancing the quality of life. Reiki practitioners are trained to detect and alleviate problems of energy flow on the physical, emotional, and spiritual level. Reiki touch therapy is used in much the same way to achieve similar effects that traditional massage therapy is used—to relieve stress and pain, and to improve the symptoms of various health conditions. The amazing power of bodywork is indisputable. We can call it many things (relaxing, invigorating, rejuvenating) for many reasons (managing pain, relieving stress, or pampering) but the fact is, therapeutic bodywork can be a powerful ally in our quest for good health. Clinical research has proven that massage can...

Reduce Defenses:
Most bodies love to be touched. Some don't. An aversion to touch may be an indication of a problem, especially if the aversion is located in a specific area of the body. By introducing therapeutic techniques to problem areas, comfort levels increase and underlying problems can come closer to resolution.

Identify Problems:

Restrictions can be identified by touch. Body temperature, muscle tension and response can be key indicators of developing issues. Subtle changes can be detected before serious injuries or challenges occur and may reduce the possibility of permanent damages.

Improve Stamina
Anytime someone is working against themselves they are using extra energy to maintain their systems. By releasing restrictions, you'll find both performance and stamina will improve, often dramatically.

Provide Comfort to Muscle Injuries:
We all get hurt. Once an injury has begun the healing process, many therapies assist by manipulating the new tissue, promoting regeneration and reducing scarring as well as spasms and cramping.  Muscles function best after injury with less scarring and restrictions.

Increases Range of Motion:
Any body that is agile and flexible with synchronized muscles will be more comfortable and active. Tendons, ligaments, and joints deal with less strain, which will result in a longer and healthier life.

Improve Circulation
Good circulation helps stimulate the elimination of waste in the body and is directly affected by the proper lymph flow. Increasing activity in the circulatory and lymphatic systems increases the amount of oxygen and nutrients fed to tissues and organs; thus helping the other systems of the body to function with more efficiency.

Enhance Immunity:
By stimulating lymph flow, massage encourages the body to dispose of built up waste such as excess caffeine, medications, viruses and bacteria. As these products are pushed back in the body it's natural defenses are activated and the threat eliminated. This process promotes both primary and secondary immune defense response, thus helping the body to increase it's defenses.

Improve Disposition:
If a body is uncomfortable or in pain the discomfort is often noted by a change in behavior.  Not only can massage relax and soften injured, tired, and over used muscles it can also increase flexibility and lessen depression or anxiety.  Touch stimulation also promotes the release of endorphins, which are the body's natural pain killers and mood elevators. These combined factors help relieve any discomfort and return the body and mind to their natural states.
